Tracy Comstock, SilverLine Realty’s President, worked closely with her Korean American Women’s Chamber of Commerce (KAWCC) to bring together a successful seminar on Thursday, march 28, focused on the impact from Amazon’s second headquarters in Arlington, VA.  Sponsored by George Mason Mortgage and held at their Fairfax, VA training center, the highlight was the presentation by Jeannette Chapman, Deputy Director and Senior Research Associate, The Stephen S. Fuller Institute at George Mason University.

“There are a lot of inquiries about real estate in the area. This seminar was an opportunity to get and share good information on this fact.” Tracy Comstock as quoted in DC Korean News.

“The federal government accounts for 30.9% of the workforce in the region last year. By 2030, with Amazon 2 headquarters adding 25,000 people, that percentage will reduce to 26.5% with the majority in the region (38%) from the retail sector with Amazon.” Jeannette Chapman quoted in the DC Korea Times http://dc.koreatimes.com/article/20190401/1239648

“Amazon’s second headquarters staff only comes in about 400 this year. However, next year, the plan is to increase the number of people from 1,100 to 2,000 next year and continue to increase for the next 15 years. By 2034, there will be more than 37,000 people working at Arlington Amazon’s second headquarters.” Jeannette Chapman, statistics posted in the Korea Daily http://www.koreadaily.com/news/read.asp?art_id=7109665.

KAWCC will continue to partner with experts in the area to provide the most relevant information available. If you missed this seminar, don’t worry, more to come.
